General Anesthesia
Anesthesia is a way of giving medicine, so the person is asleep and doesn’t feel anything, not even pain. Usually, a gas is inhaled through a mask, but sometimes it is given by an IV (intravenous). The Anesthesiologist uses this way of giving medicine when the dentist performs the dental treatment, so the patient does not feel any pain, or remember what happened during the procedure.
Dental Sedation
Dental sedation is a safe and effective technique used to help Children/Special Healthcare Needs Patients who undergo dental procedures with minimal stress, anxiety, or discomfort. It is particularly beneficial for young patients who are very anxious, have Special Healthcare Needs, or require routine dental care or extensive dental treatment.
